"Playing a good tennis match gives you an overwhelming feeling of elation. Nothing else in the world matters at that moment in time. All the stress and strain of the mundane, the housework, the nine-to-five job, are buried and forgotten as you concentrate on the game in hand"   LISA SCULLY O'GRADY

V Competition Organiser training : Delivering Quality Competition

The course is designed for people between the age of 16 – 25 who are interested in British Tennis. It is designed to help you develop the skills needed to provide high quality and enjoyable competition experiences for players, parents and coaches. During the course you will be shown how to do everything, from planning a competition, running it on the day and submitting the results once it is complete. With a large number of clubs looking to offer more competition opportunities for their players, we need your help to ensure that more juniors are competing, improving their game and getting more out of the sport. To grow our sport it is vital that we deliver more and better organised competitions. For this to happen there needs to be a greater number of better trained referees and competition organisers…

Our next Competition Organisers course will be free of charge for those wishing to attend and everyone will receive a Competition Organisers toolkit containing all the tools they’ll need to deliver a great competition.

Use of Courts : New system

All members are now being asked to place their 2009 membership cards within the holder in the tennis pavillion before commencing place. This new system will help us to ensure that only current members are playing tennis on the courts.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause but are trying to minimise misuse of our facilities. Thank you for your cooperation. PS don't forget your BMTC card!

Tennis Club Mark

The tennis club has been accredited with Club Mark status! Well done and many thanks to all those who helped with this and especially to Elizabeth Shelly who organised our bid so well.

Access to Courts

The padlock / key to the two courts directly outside the pavilion have been changed. To access the courts, members now have to enter the pavilion with the old key, then take the new key from the pin board (the one with the purple cover), open the court, then replace the key on the pin board.

You can now play in local style : BMTC  T-Shirts are now available!

We are pleased to be able to offer good quality white T-Shirts bearing the Club's details at only £10 each! At the moment we can only get adult sizes and are on the lookout for reasonably priced quality shirts for children (watch this space). To order, please contact Phil Brough on 01773 829686 or email membership@belpertennis.co.uk

Be sure to state you name and telephone number, and the quantity and size(s) you require. Please note that, as these are special order for BMTC, delivery can take upto 28 days.
